"al-Bīrūnī (d. 440/1048) stating that he knew of an old Zīj text with astronomical tables on parchment. Here the dates were mentioned according to the Diocletian era (the Coptic calendar). The Zīj contained, Bīrūnī says, addenda by an anonymous author, among them horoscopes and solar eclipses from the years 90 and 100 of the Hijra (710 and 719 AD)."
