Collaboration & The Team

The Islamic Ink Atlas is an AI4Science research initiative that uses data analysis, artificial intelligence, and materials science to understand the composition, fabrication, and evolution of Islamic ink, pigments, papers and recipes across time and regions.

The project Q-Heritage in collaboration with Qatar National Library (QNL), seeks to reconstruct historical ink technologies, enable the replication of traditional recipes, identify corrosion and degradation mechanisms, and develop mitigation strategies for the preservation of Islamic manuscript heritage.
