Remarks

The majority of pottery dated to the Iron Age II–III at the site of Sabuniye consists of various vessel forms including flat plates, bowls, and jars. Painted decoration is specifically noted to include geometric motifs such as bands, hatched triangles, wavy lines, and diagonal lines, all executed in either red or black paint (p. 278). The analysis suggests an increase in the standardization of shapes and decorative wares during the Iron Age II (p. 278).
