"Orpiment, As2S3, was identified to be the yellow pigment in some of the yellow areas studied, viz. 8 and 18 of f. 93v, 61, 62, 77 and 89 of f. 137v, 53 and 54 of f.138v, and 26, 40 and 47 of f. 139."
Remarks
Orpiment was used for halos (f. 25v), symbols, and various decorative yellow areas (p. 6, Table 1). It was also found in mixtures (vergaut) (p. 9).
