Remarks
Paper 2 is more thermally stable than pure cellulose papers. It exhibited good light fastness due to the inclusion of pigment colors and lack of optical brighteners (p. 86). However, dry-heat ageing significantly impacted its folding endurance, dropping from 3543 double folds to 1807 after 12 days (p. 92). Its Yellowness Index (YI) was recorded at 4.3 (unaged) (p. 88). ATR-FTIR analysis revealed a decrease in absorption in the region 1550-1000 cm–1 after ageing, specifically at the 1400 cm–1 band (p. 94-95).
