Remarks

The manuscript BULAC MS.ARA.165a, described by Octave Houdas in 1895 as originating from 'Soudan' (West Africa), is noted for its distinctive thick paper support that lacks the European watermarks found in other contemporary samples (p. 36). It contains a biography of the Prophet by al-Qaḍī ʿIyāḍ (p. 36).
