Remarks

Chapter 2 of the thesis is dedicated to the study of the writing support. The author attempts to date the manuscripts through the analysis of watermarks (p. 25). The findings suggest a complex supply chain involving European manufactured paper (British, French, Italian) being distributed into West African scholarly networks for the production of Ajami manuscripts (p. 25).
