Recipe Details
Ingredients
hydroxyapatite, CaCO3, BNC
Preparation Steps
A mineralized BNC membrane is prepared via enzyme-induced mineralizing, achieving high-loaded and homogeneous calcifications of hydroxyapatite and CaCO3 nanoparticles onto the BNC fibrils. The membrane deacidifies the paper through direct contact, allowing Ca2+ ions to migrate into the paper and H+ ions to transfer into the BNC membrane (p. 22).

Evidence
"the pH of the paper treated by mineralizing the BNC membrane clearly increased from 7.00 to about 7.50."
Remarks
The BNC-deacidified process is reversible because the BNC membrane can be removed from the paper directly. It also exhibits excellent flame-retardancy performance due to its organic-inorganic composite structure (p. 22-23).
