The sample 'Book 1' was subjected to comparison between non-lined states and lining with either Bacterial Nanocellulose (BNC) or Japanese Paper (JP). Santos et al. [56] deposited a thin layer of BNC (ca. 10 µm) on the paper surface by in situ cultivation for paper reinforcing.
