Remarks

The manuscript ÖNB 1609, containing the Collectio Sangallensis, was written around 900, most probably in Freising at the scriptorium of Waldo’s episcopal see (p. 37). The ink/script is noted for its uniform appearance, though some variations and later additions exist, such as a note inserted at the bottom of fol. 19v (p. 37). Musical themes and early notation appear in the manuscript on fols 4r–8v and 64r (p. 38). Codicological links suggest Clm 19413 is a related copy from a St Gall collection (p. 39).
