Remarks

MS SMMJ 250 is identified as the oldest extant dated manuscript fully written in Garshuni. It was produced by the scribe Yūsuf ibn Sbāt in a multi-confessional setting in Cairo (p. 255). The study examines his scribal practices as a manifestation of cultural identity during his migration from Mesopotamia through Egypt to Cyprus (p. 256).
