"the manuscript’s title page bears the name of three works – Jār Allāh’s al-Nukat al-ẓirāf, Majd al-Dīn al-Fayrūzabādī’s (d. 817/1414) Safar al-suʿāda and al-Mundhirī’s (d. 656/1258) Arbiʿūn ḥadīth – all written in what appears to be Jār Allāh’s own hand."

Remarks

This refers to the ink used in the extant autograph manuscript of Jār Allāh Ibn Fahd (the third, expanded version of Al-Nukat al-ẓirāf), produced in 1543 (p. 125, 129). This version was retitled Al-Nukat al-ẓirāf fī mawʿiẓa bi-dhawī l-ʿāhāt min al-ashrāf and consists of fifty-nine folios (p. 125-126). Unlike the first version, this manuscript survived and is the only known extant copy (p. 129).
