The text describes a process of 'tanwih' (specific notation or coloring) used in the production of Mushafs (Qur'ans) by the scribe Abdulrahman al-Suhaymi. This pigment/ink application was used to denote the copy number and add religious invocations at the end of the manuscript (p. 295).

Remarks

Al-Suhaymi was noted for his focus on copying the Qur'an, with estimates suggesting he produced over one hundred copies. His work was distinguished by its elegance and the specific practice of marking the sequence of his copies (p. 295, 296).
