The stain on fol. 17r was found to match a recipe for a green līqa located on its verso, which explicitly mentioned the ingredients detected through instrumental analysis (p. 12). The manuscript also contains a recipe on fol. 14r where ingredients are listed in violet such that each entry forms a triangle with the name of the ingredient highlighted by a line and the amount in ciphers at the bottom (p. 13).

"Material analyses of the colour have identified orpiment and indigo as the main components of the more visible stain left on fol. 17r and a recipe of a green līqa mentioning the ingredients detected has been found on its verso"

Remarks

The manuscript Lbg 637 shows significant traces of practical use, evidenced by greenish fingerprints in the margins (Fig. 4). The presence of these stains suggests the user was searching for corresponding passages while actively working with the materials (p. 12-13). The text density is inconsistent, with overcrowded pages at the end, possibly due to the copyist running out of paper (p. 12).
