The calligraphy was designed and applied by Islamic calligraphers, notably Shiekh Abdul Moneimm Mohamed Ali Al-Sharkawi (p. 10). The thesis describes the tools of the calligrapher generally as including reed pens and bamboos (2.8.1), calligraphy ink (2.8.2), al-maqta (2.8.3), and a knife (2.8.4). The calligraphy is found on various structures including the Mihrab, minaret, Minber, and dome (p. 20). Specifically, calligraphy decorated the center of the dome from the inside on triangular wood panels (p. 11, Figure 2.29).

Remarks
