Evidence

"Most of the surviving manuscripts on parchment are Qurʾanic fragments. There are several large fragments of the Qurʾan in codex form written in → Ḥijāzī scripts and therefore datable to the 2nd half of the 1st/7th or early 2nd/8th century."

Remarks

Large fragments of early parchment Qur'ans are preserved in the British Library (Or 2165) and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (arabe 328a) (p. 64).
