Remarks
An 'imitation watermark' is a mark made by pressing paper between a male die and a flat piece of polished steel. The watermark is thereby embossed on the underside of the sheet, whereas the top remains smooth (p. 130). Examples include inscriptions of the Ḥilū family (p. 130).
