Remarks
Papyri were frequently reused; administrative offices were equipped to 'wash' used papyrus leaves for reuse in orders of payment (p. 12). Palimpsests are mentioned where previous text traces are still visible (p. 12). Inv. 352 shows reinforcements with additional papyrus strips to offset damage from washing (p. 12, Fig 9).
