"The paper, which was never produced in ሒaሁramawt, is always imported. Among the manuscripts brought from outside, those produced in the adjacent areas of Yemen and in Arabia prevail, in particular, those from Zabĩd and Mecca. Also some exemplars imported from remote lands can be found: from Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and India."
