A 'purulent' pink color was created by combining cochineal with an organic yellow dye (p. 271).

Evidence

"Qazvin painter has used a combination of cochineal + yellow dye to create a kind of purulent pink colour. This colour combination is used only by this painter and has not been seen in any other example."

Remarks

This specific combination of cochineal and yellow dye is unique to the Qazvin style analyzed and was used by 'Painter C' in Shāhnāma manuscript Persian 933 (p. 269, 271).
