"Two colours, Indian yellow and orpiment, have been used to create these yellow colours, which Indian yellow has not been seen in any of the manuscript paintings before."

Remarks

The use of Indian yellow is a key chronological marker, appearing only in the Mughal additions (end of 16th century) and not in the original 1444 CE Timurid paintings. It was used for clothes and backgrounds (p. 220, 221).
