Pure silver applied to represent metallic objects. Used for armor, barding, backgrounds, helmets, swords and river/creek water (p. 141).

Evidence

"The silver pigment is widely used in this manuscript, and most of the dark grey spots in the manuscript are actually made of silver, which has now become dark due to corrosion"

Remarks

The analysis reveals that many areas appearing dark grey are actually corroded silver (p. 141). Folio 262 shows a combination of gold and silver where the silver corrosion has significantly darkened the background (p. 141).
