The study compares 16th-century Mughal Indian paintings added to manuscript RAS 239 with the original mid-15th-century paintings by other painters. These late 16th-century additions were produced at the Mughal court and exhibit differences in quality and material composition compared to the earlier Timurid layers (p. 14).
