"Gold is used extensively throughout the manuscript’s decoration, along with bright blue, dark blue, bronze, red, green, and light purple. White is sometimes used for giving emphasis to knotted patterns... The purple pigment in the manuscript is used as much as the bright blue, if not more."

Remarks

The manuscript exhibits a much wider range of colors compared to earlier examples dominated by blue and gold (p. 144). Light purple and bronze are favored for a softer visual impression (p. 148). The purple might be a mix of red, blue, and white pigment (p. 144, fn 418).
