The illuminated area on folio 1b consists of a headpiece split into three equal squares. The decorative scheme features floriated and interlaced Kufic script surrounded by half-palmette motifs. The color palette is dominated by red and blue pigments with the addition of gold leaf or gold paint (p. 108).

Remarks

The manuscript is a copy of Laṭāʾif al-Ḥikma by Sirāj al-Dīn Urmavī, completed on 31 January 1286 in Konya (p. 107). The style of illumination is noted as quite different from other contemporary manuscripts, with the interlaced Kufic showing parallels to contemporary architectural decoration (p. 108). The scribe, Ḥamīd al-Mukhliṣī al-Bukhārī, came from Bukhara, highlighting the mobility of artists to Konya (p. 107-108).
