Remarks

The folio is characterized by sixteen lines per page of angular script. Early Quran codices were assembled with flesh sides of the animal skin facing upward and hair sides on the exterior (p. 33-34). The different textures of the flesh and hair sides caused the ink to be absorbed differently (p. 34).
