Remarks

The scholar and scribe Sulaiman bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdul Wahhab (d. 1233 AH) was renowned for the aesthetic quality of his work. The text specifically notes his use of black ink (al-aswad) for the primary text. His handwriting was so exceptional that scholars in the Levant (Sham) expressed astonishment that such calligraphic skill could be found in Najd, a region they perceived as lacking professional calligraphic instruction (p. 235-236).
