Remarks
In the ornamentation of the bowls different elements of Mamluk art of Egypt from the time around 665/1265 were combined with one another. The name of the Mamluk Sultan as-Sultan al-Malik az-Zahir (Baibars) is mentioned twice each with the addition «the righteous one, the fighter for the faith». (p. 201)
