The firm J. & L. Lobmeyr used 'crystal glass' decorated with gold painting and various enamel colors (p. 184). Design elements included pointed oval fields alternately decorated with blue enamel or gold ornaments (p. 184). For vase J 347, surfaces were structured with fields framed by blue bars with inset pastel green squares, decorated with shrubs featuring pastel green stylized leaves and yellow rosette blossoms (p. 188).

Remarks

Lobmeyr designers (Johann Machytka and Franz Schmoranz) drew inspiration from diverse sources: the combination of blue and gold was inspired by 15th-16th century Spanish ceramics (p. 185); Boteh patterns were taken from Persian carpets and textiles (p. 186); and arabesques were inspired by Moorish art (p. 187). Some ornaments, such as carnation blossoms, go back to Ottoman art of the 16th-18th centuries (p. 188).
