Remarks

Blue pigment is used in CUL MS Kk.6.33 for rubrication purposes (p. 209). This use of color is described as 'typical of many fifteenth-century manuscripts' (p. 209). Although it provides a visual separator for the medical recipes, the author notes that the manuscript is not lavish, suggesting a functional rather than purely decorative application intended for portability and 'itinerant use' (p. 209).
