Evidence

"Šeimosa mesamed c̣(mi)day ese c̣igni mravaltavi ṭq̇avita zroxisayta sina-c̣(mi)das ... This holy mravaltavi book was bound (lit. clad) for the third time in cowskin on Holy (Mt.) Sinai"

Remarks

The colophon by Ioane Zosime (dated 980-981 CE) records the third binding of the Sinai Mravaltavi using cowskin (zroxisayta). This binding phase occurred roughly 116 years after the original completion of the manuscript (p. 62, 64). The use of bovine hide is consistent with heavy monastic codices in the Sinai region.
