"The uncial script of frg. 6 and P.Vindob. L 94 can be dated to the fifth century at the latest; the Greek volumina can be dated, at the latest, to the fourth century on palaeographic grounds. The fact that the lower writings of the Latin manuscript are in Greek constitutes an element in favour of the Egyptian origin of the Latin codex."

Remarks

The study examines parchment fragments that were reused as binding materials for Coptic codices (p. 317). Specifically, it identifies fragments of Latin manuscripts in rustic capital and uncial scripts that lived 'at least three lives' before becoming membra disiecta (p. 317). Some fragments (frg. 6 and P.Vindob. L 94) are palimpsests, with Greek majuscule as the scripturae inferiores, suggesting they originally belonged to parchment volumina of the Holy Scriptures from the 4th century (p. 316).
