Secondary colored inks are used for specific structural or didactic purposes. In Acad. 35, headings for lunar months are mentioned in blue (p. 148), specifically 'sāl-i ሑamdሱne / meymሱn yılı' (p. 148). Acad. 35 also contains headings in blue and green, and diagrams utilizing black, red, blue, and green inks (p. 148). Acad. 59, a grammar of the Turkish language, uses green ink towards the end of the manuscript for headings and example phrases to differentiate them from the main text or rubrics (p. 158). Acad. 46 uses blue for headings in the almanac (p. 154).

Remarks

The use of green and blue inks appears more specialized than the ubiquitous red rubrics. In Acad. 35, the blue ink is linked specifically to astronomical/almanac headings (p. 148). In Acad. 59, the green ink is used for 'example phrases' (p. 158). The diagrams in Acad. 35 represent a complex multi-chromatic application, utilizing four different ink colors (black, red, blue, green) on p. 148.
