To dissolve the al-ashras, take a small amount of it, add water and let it sit. Then stir it with your index finger until it becomes thin and smooth. It should not be too thick or too watery.

Evidence

"Then dissolve the *al-ashras* $^{(2)}$ by taking a small amount of it, casting water upon it, and leaving it for a while. Then strike it and stir it with your index finger in the middle of the *al-ashras* until it becomes thin and you can move it with your middle finger from your right hand and it is smooth. If it is thick, it will be narrow, and if it is thin, it should be such that it is not too thin to be watery."

Remarks

Al-ashras is described as a plant that leans towards red, dried and ground and placed in water to soak. It is beaten by hand and sticks immediately, and it is not in the genus of plant glues; it is better for speed of drying.
