Mix half of the starch in cold water until no lumps remain, then boil water until it bubbles. When it boils, pour the clarified starch into it and stir it until it settles and thickens. Then coat the paper with your hand, then hang it on a reed. When the paper dries, coat it on the other side and return it to a board, sprinkling it with a fine mist of water. When all the paper is coated, gather it and press it, and polish it.
