Take a green glass jar and place in it one pound of Sanji salt, or Andarani salt—whichever is available. Place an alembic over it and let it drip onto the salt the weight of two dirhams of water so that it does not cut off its distillation. Take what has dripped from it and keep it away from the air so it does not enter and lose its strength. Then take what remains of the salt in the alembic and do not let it cool. Put it back into the alembic and pour half a pound of fresh water over it, and drip it again. The first drip is stronger than the second. After keeping it away from the air, also keep the rest of the salt in the alembic. Repeat this seven times with new salt, and pour the distilled water over it and let it drip. Do this seven times. It will come out at the end as white as milk. Extend this water with the pen and write with it over the letters written on the paper; they will be obliterated. They will vanish in an hour so that no trace is seen at all. It also removes all garment dyes, God Almighty willing.

Remarks

This recipe describes a method for erasing writing from paper and parchment, using distilled salt water. Sanji salt or Andarani salt is placed in a green glass jar with an alembic over it. The distillate is collected and kept away from air. The process is repeated seven times with new salt. The resulting water is used to write over the letters, obliterating them.
