Take half a dirham of gum arabic, the weight of a dirham and a half of cow's milk, and the weight of many dirhams of water. Mix them and boil them thoroughly, then let them sit for forty days. Then place three dirhams of water over them and write with them; it will not be read until ashes are sprinkled upon it.
