Take gold leaf and place it in a mortar. Pour over it good wine vinegar and grind it for three days. Then wash it with water repeatedly and write with it. If you wish, add tragacanth water instead of vinegar. Grind the tragacanth and pour water over it, soaking it for a day and a night until you see it like honey. Then wash the ground gold and pour that tragacanth over it according to the amount that allows it to flow, and write with it.
