White Ink

Recipe Details

Ingredients

white gallnuts, water, white starch, Arabic gum

Preparation Steps

Take white gallnuts and crush them coarsely. Pour enough water to submerge them. Leave them for one hour, as much as is needed for the water to rise above them. Then take white starch, finely sifted. Mix it with that water until it becomes like an ointment. Leave it until it clears. If it clears, take what has risen from the sediment. Add Arabic gum to it, grind it, and dissolve it in the starch water. If you wish to thicken it, add the sediment you took and stir it. If you want it even thicker, write with it.
