Preparation Steps

Take half a rotl of sumac. Pour three rotls of clear water over it. Place it in the sun for two days until the redness of the sumac is extracted. Strain it through a thin cloth. Elevate it in the sun for five days. Add five ounces of Arabic gum to every rotl. Leave it until the gum dissolves. Add vitriol as needed. Monitor it so it does not burn from an excess of vitriol.
