Preparation Steps

Take two parts of gallnuts, crush them, and pour six parts of water over each part. Take one part of *al-adbah* and pour six parts of water over it. Soak them for a day and a night, then combine them in a new pot and cook them until one-fourth or one-third remains. Remove it from the fire and clarify it, then let it cool. Take two *uqiyyahs* of vitriol, grind it, and add it to the liquid. Take two *uqiyyahs* of Gum Arabic, grind it, and add it to the liquid while it is hot so it dissolves well. Then store it in a glass bottle and use it, God willing.
