Preparation Steps
Take any soot you wish, grind it finely, then sift it through a fine sieve. Take beet leaves, squeeze them, and knead the soot with the juice until it becomes like soft dough. For every two *uqiyyahs* of ink, add five dirhams of Gum Arabic. Add a little *Qirz* (acacia pods) to it. Sprinkle some vinegar on it and write.
