Preparation Steps
Take Shaqa'iq [anemones] and put them in glass vials and bury them in the dung of a stable the stable until it dissolves and turns into water and thins. Then proceed to the papers and burn them and collect what burned from them with that water and raise it to the shade until it dries. Then take of it the weight of a dirham, and of Arabic gum the weight of a dirham, and of galls the weight of half a dirham, then grind all with egg white, and it is said and it is thinned as we mentioned before, and it is moistened in the inkwell with the water of the beet, and it is the best of inks.
