Preparation Steps

Finely grind a quantity of glass (زجاج). Add water until it reaches a paste-like consistency, then wash it repeatedly until the black impurities are removed and the glass is pure. Place it in a wide-mouthed bottle. Add Arabic gum (صمغ عربى) and wine vinegar (خل خمر). Hang the mixture in the sun for seven days during summer (or longer in winter). Shake the bottle daily.
